About The Camino Chronicles

Walk With Purpose. Discover Beauty. Live With Courage.

At The Camino Chronicles, every step tells a story — of faith, endurance, and the simple joy of walking the ancient paths of Spain and beyond. What began as a 500-mile pilgrimage across the Camino de Santiago has grown into a lifelong journey of reflection, travel, and connection.

My Story: From One Step to 500 Miles

Hello, I’m Renae Frey — pilgrim, storyteller, and lifelong traveler. My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary and milestone birthdays by walking the Camino Francés, the legendary route stretching across northern Spain.

What started as an adventure soon became something deeper — a sacred rhythm of walking, reflecting, and rediscovering what truly matters. Each sunrise over the Spanish hills reminded me that life’s journey isn’t just about the destination… it’s about the courage to keep walking when the road feels long.

A Journey of Faith, Simplicity & Connection

Walking the Camino isn’t just a physical challenge — it’s a spiritual and emotional pilgrimage. Along the trail, you learn to let go of what you don’t need, appreciate the small moments, and trust that the Camino provides.

Whether you’re walking through Spain, hiking a local trail, or simply navigating the seasons of life, I hope The Camino Chronicles reminds you that beauty can always be found in the journey.
